Swedish Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients
  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • dash pepper
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 3/4 cup cooked rice
  • 6 large cabbage leaves
  • 3/4 oz can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 Tablespoon brown suger
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice

 

Directions
  1. In a bowl, combine egg, milk, oniont & pepper; mix well.
  2. Add ground beef, ground pork, & cooked rice; beat together with fork.
  3. Immerse cabbage leaves in boiling water for 3 min. or until limp; drain.
  4. Heavy center vein of leaf may be slit about 2 ½ inch,
  5. Place ½ cup meat mix. on each leaf; fold
  6. in sides and roll ends over meat.
  7. Place stuffed cabbage rolls in 12" x 7.5" baking dish.
  8. Blend together soup, brown sugar, & lemon juice; pour over cabbage rolls.
  9. Bake at 350  deg, for 11/4 hrs.
  10. Baste once or twice with tomato sauce.
